I was born and raised in Michigan, and attended Michigan Tech University in Houghton, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. During most of my life, I've had an interest in herbs, nutrition and complementary medicine, even as an engineer having worked in the automotive and petroleum industries for 15 years. Then, after seeing first-hand how effective acupuncture was at treating the side effects of chemotherapy, I decided to explore the field more by enrolling at ACAOM in Houston and in 2008, graduating co-valedictorian with a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM).
I've also had the privilege of working in MD Anderson's Integrative Medicine Department and hospital, and traveling to Beijing and learning from some of the top Oriental Medicine Doctors in China. These experiences have been invaluable in advancing my education and experience in treating a wide scope of illnesses with acupuncture.
I am qualified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese herbs) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and hold professional memberships with the American Botanical Council, and the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (TAAOM). I am licensed as an acupuncturist in Texas (AC01119).

I also have additional training and clinical experience (at MD Anderson Cancer Center Hospital TMC campus) in treating cancer-treatment-related side effects such as phantom pain, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, dry mouth (Xerostomia), post-mastectomy pain (PMP) and tingling and burning in the fingers and toes (chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, CIPN).
